Hi. I'm Tim.
I'm a London-based inter-disciplinary theatre creative and photographer.
I'm particularly interested in shows that push the boundaries of traditional notions of "theatre" - especially performances that include elements of lecture, multimedia, and staged rehearsal. I’m passionate about theatre that is political, diverse, challenging and accessible, and in particular, the way that technology can speak to, and help realise, these ideals.
In accordance with my belief theatre and its makers should be collaborative and inter-disciplinary, my experience is wide-ranging - including: directing, lighting and scenic design, stage management, performance, puppet construction, and even app development for performance! I also have experience using theatre in education, having worked as a classroom assistant for the Norwich Theatre Royal Arts Course, and in KS3 Drama classes at City of Norwich School. I’m also trained in British Sign Language, and have received some training in providing venue support for patrons with visible and invisible disabilities.
In late 2014, I set up Cup of Brew, a new-writing theatre company, alongside Toby King. Cup of Brew took their first show Alan and Bennett to the Edinburgh Fringe in 2016 to sold-out audiences and five star reviews. Our most recent project, Orangutan had its first proper outing at VAULT Festival 2019.
As a photographer, my primary focuses are portrait and production shots, but have been known to dabble in photographing club nights and other events, and a bit of street photography here and there. I also do some occasional graphic and web design work.
I'm always up for exciting new projects, so if you like what you see on this site, please contact me. I'd love to chat.
